MINI CHALLENGE UK  Oulton Park Weather Condition’s (WET)

Oulton Park Race circuit is a challenging track at the best of times, but when the weather is bad and its non stop all day, it can be very tricky to get a solid lap in.

This round was the MINI Festival and it was all about the MINI Experience and with us racing out on track, it was a fun day by all.

Not only i had preasure from the weather and doing well for the Excelr8 Team, i had my wife along with me for more support and to see behind the scenes of all the action.

qualifying session was going well and Stuart was 9th overall but left it a lap to late to change to slicks and sadly fell down the order.. Race 1 was dry to start but then it rained and he got caught out and spun although got going again.

Stuart had some good racing aswell until a massive accident brought out the red flag.. drivers battered and bruised but o.k.. finished 17th..

Race 2 was wet,and dry so he took a gamble with slick fronts and wet rears but it didn’t work out and he lost all rear grip due to the wets overheating so had to back off just to finish in 17th..

A very tricky day indeed and lessons learned.. A big congrats to Brett Smith on winning the jcw mini championship this season and to everyone racing in the jcw mini championship today..

also a massive thankyou to the excelr8 motorsport mechanics and team members for all of your help and support and getting me out there.. next stop donnington f1 circuit in September and the last round.. thankyou all….
